Our team provides a graphics service for teaching, research and other internal focused projects in the university. We’re continuing to work with staff both in the faculties and the directorates. Recent jobs have included the OCSLD newsletter, a weekly bulletin written by and for staff in Learning Resources and a special Library and LR Update to share information on all of the library services that we are able to offer whilst the university sites are closed.
Jayne’s story
During the lockdown I’ve been busy working on the layout of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Annual Report. This has involved sourcing images from EDI events and activities during the academic year 2018-19, adding colour to graphs generated from staff data, and formatting the text provided by staff in Human Resources. The aim is to create a visually appealing document which will be available to download from the EDI web pages soon.
To help members of staff feel connected throughout this period, I’ve been hosting virtual coffee mornings for the LGBTQ+ Staff Forum, and have made some online game suggestions to the staff board games group, including input from members.
I feel very fortunate to be living where I do, as I can enjoy a view across the fields from my desk, including sightings of a Muntjac deer and a barn owl, and enjoy walks in the countryside. Whilst on an evening walk last week my only encounters were with Canada geese, rabbits and bats as I watched the sun set.
My cat has been keeping me company, which has been lovely whilst having to spend time alone. I’ve been keeping occupied by learning new tunes to play on the guitar, and cooking lots of nice meals to enjoy and put in the freezer, which is now almost full to the brim!
