Explore UK Black Pride

UK Black Pride was founded in 2005, and has continued to grow over the years. The organisation promotes unity, solidarity and co-operation among all LGBTQ+ people of African, Asian, Caribbean, Middle Eastern and Latin American descent.

The pride festival begins on Friday 2 July 2021, with the theme “Love and Rage” which reflects on the community’s love and commitment to one another, whilst recognising the ongoing anger and tiredness over systemic racism.

Here at Brookes Library, we have created reading lists dedicated to anti-racism and LGBTQ+. Some of the resources on the anti-racism list have been suggested by staff who are BAME, and some of the resources on the LGBTQ+ reading list have been suggested by staff who identify as LGBTQ+.

The lists will inspire you to read a selection of eBooks (both fiction and non-fiction), or watch a film or TV show on Box of Broadcasts. All of these resoures are available with your Oxford Brookes login.
