Last year the BBC asked a panel of writers, curators and thinkers to compile a list of 100 English-language books that have had an impact on their lives.
Lists of “the greatest novels ever” or “books you must read” are everywhere, but this list struck a chord with many of us in the library, as it included so many books that aren’t typically included.
So, we’re spending some time over the summer exploring this list. We’ll be writing regular blog posts exploring the themes in the list, and highlighting related films, documentaries, images and articles – all accessible with your Oxford Brookes student/staff number and password.
And we’d love to hear from you! Take a picture of yourself with a copy of the book from the list that has shaped your world, write down why this book matters to you and send it to us. We may then feature it here or on our Instagram. If you’d like to suggest a book that’s not on the list, we’d be interested to hear about that too.
