Events volunteering opportunity for students – National Brewing Library

Are you a student who wants to gain experience in events management?

Oxford Brookes library’s Special Collections at Headington are home to the National Brewing Library, an English language collection relating to brewing and distilling.

This year we’re celebrating 20 years of this collection at Brookes with an event encompassing lectures, workshops and an exhibition.

A number of well-known beer writers and researchers have already agreed to do talks.

The event will tie in with Brookes’ public lecture series, using the JHB lecture theatre on Wednesday 23 November 2022.

We are asking for Brookes student volunteers, particularly those studying events management, to help us!

This will be a fantastic opportunity for students wishing to offer planning and event delivery support with marketing, logistics and delivery for the physical event and the online exhibition. There are six roles available in two teams:

  • Marketing officers (on site and online, and post event evaluation)
  • Event delivery officers (on-site logistics including H&S, sustainability, workshop support and tours)

This will provide an excellent work experience for CVs and can connect to LR STARS and Brookes Edge for further development, allowing you to highlight your new skills to employers.

You can apply via this short web form. The closing date for this application form is Monday 28 February 2022. Shortlisted students will be offered a short (informal) interview.
